RRR box office collection Day 14: Enters 200 Crore Club

There is a tie for first place between RRR and The Kashmir Files and Kabir Singh, which took 13 days to surpass the 200 crore milestone as well. RRR box office

It has taken place. RRR (Hindi) has become the first Indian film to reach the 200-crore mark in just 13 days. As of Wednesday, the film had collected an additional 6 crores*, bringing the total collected to 204.09 crores. This is an incredible accomplishment, however it could have been accomplished in as little as 12 days if not for a larger than projected decrease on Monday.

Although the film has achieved this milestone, it has also set a new record by being one of the most successful films in Indian history to reach the 200-crore mark in a short period of time. When it happened for the first time, it was in 2009, when three idiots traveled 110 days to get there.

However, after that, films began to do so in 20-25 days after their release. Although four enormous blockbusters – Baahubali: The Conclusion, Sanju, Tiger Zinda Hai, and War – have set a new record for the quickest opening weekend, it is Baahubali: The Conclusion that holds the joint record for the fastest opening weekend. While the top on the list has a lifetime value in excess of 500 crores due to its continuous roar, the others were all 300 Crore Club entrants who had a few more weeks to run following their record-breaking first week. Now that RRR (Hindi) has accomplished this accomplishment in only 13 days, it can brag about having defeated several major competitors along the road. The two Salman Khan films Bharat and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which both starred Salman Khan and required 14 days to reach a double century each, are the closest of them all. The filming of Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express took an extra day because the accomplishment was completed in 15 days. Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, starring Ajay Devgn, took the same amount of time to achieve a double century as Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. It took him 24 days or more to complete his Golmaal Again and Akshay Kumar’s Good Newz, Housefull 4 and Mission Mangal, which all took place in the same year.

However, there is a tie for first place between RRR and The Kashmir Files and Kabir Singh, which took 13 days to surpass the 200 crore milestone as well. If these three films had been released any sooner, they would have been able to compete with Simmba, which completed the task in a day less by completing it in only 12 days. Beyond that, however, the film had little possibility of moving up the list of the fastest 200 Crore Club entries, as Salman Khan’s Kick completed the feat in 11 days, Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3 completed the feat in 10 days, and Aamir Khan’s PK and Dhoom: 3 completed the feat in just 9 days. In reality, his Dangal was completed in even less time, as the 200 billion rupee mark was reached in only 8 days.

With KGF – Chapter 2 on the horizon, it will be interesting to see if the film is able to surpass the 200 crore milestone, and if so, how quickly it can accomplish this feat.
