Jammu and Kashmir is on its way to become a model state for other states

As reported by ANI, Union Minister of State (MoS) Jitendra Singh stated on Thursday that the Central government is working towards the installation of solar power plants in order to address the issue of electricity deficit in Jammu and Kashmir.

While in the UT to assess security and other preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to J&K later this month, the BJP leader asserted that Jammu and its power mechanism will serve as a model for other states in the midst of the chaos caused by the recent spike in inflationary expectations.

“We’ll demonstrate fresh innovation and technology in rural development in this region, and we’ll promote agricultural entrepreneurs,” Singh continued, when asked how the NDA administration intends to accomplish this goal. The installation of solar power plants worth around Rs 2.45 crore will be completed in 1-2 days, and by April 17-18, 340 houses will be connected to the grid by solar energy.”

The assertions were delivered from the Palli panchayat in Samba, where the leader was reviewing preparations ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s visit on April 24.

The prime minister will deliver a speech to all of the panchayats of Jammu and Kashmir from Pali on Thursday.

About Modi’s visit, the Prime Minister will travel to Jammu and Kashmir on April 24, marking his first visit to the state since it was deprived of its special status in August 2019 and divided into two Union Territories, according to the Indian Express.

Aside from that, the news agency ANI reported that Union Minister Jitendra Singh had stated in a now-deleted tweet that electricity would be made available for free in Jammu and Kashmir within the next 4-5 years.

After receiving criticism for making such statements, the Union Minister responded by tweeting that he had made no such claims.

“False. It was never stated that J&K or Jammu will receive free power after 4-5 years; this was never stated in the audio-visual presentation. A creation of the brain of some overzealous reporter desperate to garner attention by misquoting well-known public personalities, this character was created. However, ANI has already removed this tweet from their account “Singh penned the piece.
